Following the success of the first Brit Fest, the team behind the Cheshire-based festival approached us for assistance with the rollout of its second edition, set for Summer 2025.
We saw this as an opportunity to learn from the previous year and assess how the brand reflected the values of both the festival organizers and its audience. A rebrand was decided upon, with the aim of aligning these insights and setting the stage for an even more successful 2025.
Initially, the festival branding revolved around the all-British lineup, symbolized by the Union Jack logo. However, feedback on this was mixed, prompting us to refine the design. The result was a type-based logo that retained the Union Jack colors in a subtler form. The wave-like movement within the logo hinted at the flag without being overly literal. We also adjusted the logo’s shape and size to suit the various use cases expected in future applications.
With the logo revamped, we turned our attention to the overall brand. The first year attracted more family groups and a more diverse, vibrant crowd than originally anticipated. The organizers wanted to convey this family-friendly atmosphere through the marketing and move away from the stagnant red, white, and blue theme of previous campaigns.
We expanded the color palette to make the brand more versatile, incorporating bold, punchy typography that echoed the logo’s flag-inspired design. This came together in a festival poster that is both colorful and eye-catching, seamlessly aligning with the branding across all platforms.
The project has been very well received so far, and as marketing efforts continue, we look forward to showcasing more examples of the brand’s rollout.
